Reverend Rupert Simpson

Pastor

Reverend Rupert Simspon has been the official pastor of the Birmingham branch of the PCM church since 2010. Prior to that he was the interim pastor from 2006. Brother Rupert was consecrated as an Usher circa 1987, promoted to the role of Deacon a few years later and then subsequently ordained to the office of Reverend in May 2005.

Reverend Rupert pastors with careful consideration of his flock whilst maintaining the standards of the Gospel at all times. He instills structure and encourages commitment and endeavours to model these characteristics. Gifted as a teacher, in both his spiritual and professional life, Reverend Rupert preaches and teaches in an interactive, thought-provoking and stimulating way to provoke his students to good works and a better understanding of the Bible, their faith, and the principles of Christian living.

Reverend Kathy Pearce

Assistant Pastor and Christian Education and Training Lead

Rev Kathy was reclaimed into the body of Christ, under the banner of the PCM church, in 2007. Since that time she has served, and continues to serve, on the hospitality team, is a member of the choir and preaches the undiluted gospel with passion. She was ordained as a Light Brigade and in 2018 was promoted to the office of Reverend. She lead the evangelism team for a number of years, taking members of the church onto the streets in the local community to share the gospel, and in 2020 she became the inaugural Christian Education and Training Lead, and later in the year she was appointed as assistant pastor of the Birmingham branch.

Reverend Ida Folkes

Assistant Missionary leader and Church Warden

Reverend Folkes can often be heard quoting from the Bible, "I was glad when someone said to me, let us go into the house of the Lord", and "...taste and see that the Lord is good". Saved and baptised in 1983, Reverend Folkes has been the epitome of a worker in the church. She started as an usher and over the years moved through the ranks from Volunteer to becoming a Reverend in 2018. Sister Folkes is passionate about Evangelism as she loves to tell people about the love of God. Reverend Folkes is our church warden, and is one of the main faces seen in our local community.

Deacon Wilfred McDermott

Men's Fellowship Leader

Brother McDermott was born in a Christian family; his father was a minister and his mother was a Believer. He attended Delrose Bible College in Jamaica, worked hard in industry and was even a police officer. He migrated to the United Kingdom in 2001 and was baptised in 2011 after the death of his father reminded him of the brevity of life and prompted him to make his 'calling and his election sure'. Brother McDermott has been an active member of the Birmingham branch and puts his hand to anything that he can. It was this unfailing commitment and his proactive nature that led to him being appointed as the men's fellowship leader and to be subsequently ordained as a Deacon in 2018. His vision for the men's department is to see men taking their rightful place in the body of Christ, on the front line.

Worker Fay Carr-Morrison

Women's Fellowship Leader and Usher's President

Worker Carr-Morrison was 18 years old when she received the call of God on her life! She recalls the voice of God declaring to her that “there is work on the battlefield”, and was there and then commissioned by the Holy Spirit to “dare to be a daniel.” Worker Carr-Morrison is the Church Treasurer, Head Usher and leader of The Women’s Fellowship; three roles she honours and she enjoys working alongside her colleagues. Her vision for the women's group is to encourage and maintain a spirit of unity and fellowship among the women through the word of God, as well as execute missionary and evangelism work within the wider community in the hope of harvesting souls for God's Kingdom, but also reaching out to them in a supportive and inspiring way.

Worker Zikel Notice

Young People's Group (YPG) President

Growing up under the wings of a God-fearing mother in the Pentecostal City Mission Church, Worker Notice accepted Christ as his Saviour and in 2006, aged 16, was baptised. Five years later he was ordained as a Volunteer and then, in December 2018, as a Worker. He served as Youth Secretary for a number of years, and is currently the YPG President. He graduated university in 2008, with a degree in English and Sports Studies; in 2013 he achieved his PGCE and became a qualified teacher. He has a passion for the Lord as well as for working with young people and the local community. Worker Notice's vision is to see the youth department grow spiritually and to win souls for the Kingdom of God.

Sis Nervelyn Waite-Higgins

Sunday School Superintendent

In her early childhood Sis Nervelyn grew up attending the Comfort Hall City Mission basic school and Sunday school in the parish of St James, Jamaica. This set the foundation to her knowledge of God. Migrating to Birmingham in 1994, Sis Nervelyn accepted Christ as Lord and Saviour in 2014 and undertook water baptism during the holy Easter convocation that year. Since surrendering her life to the will of God, she serves on the choir, the praise and worship team and is a Sunday school teacher; in 2019 she was appointed Sunday School superintendent. As a Sunday school teacher, she understands the emphasis on the teaching and development of children, spiritually, regularly referring to Proverbs 22 v 6 in the Bible: “Train up a child in the way he should go and, when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

Worker Marcia Hare

Missionary Leader

Worker Hare first heard the voice of the Lord one Sunday morning at the age of 14 and was baptised in 1982 by the late Bishop Walters and Bishop Jones. In November 2011, she was promoted to the rank of Worker within the body of the Pentecostal City Mission. Worker Hare has had many years of service within the ministry consisting of: the YPG assistant president, choir leader, a Sunday school teacher, past leader of the ushers and now presently on the ushers board. She loves to help others as well as to tend to their needs. Worker Hare's vision for the Missionary department is to provide for others just as Jesus demonstrated throughout the scriptures, encouraging us to feed the poor and provide for those who are in need.
